Happy holidays from SameYou

Before we get ready to enjoy the holiday season and ring in an exciting New Year ahead, we wanted to take this moment to thank our brilliant SameYou supporters, volunteers, fundraisers, partners and allies.

In the year that has seen us mark our 5th anniversary, founders Emilia and Jenny Clarke were also awarded MBEs for Services to People with Brain Injury – accepting the honours on behalf of every survivor who has struggled to access quality rehabilitation.

Some of the highlights include taking the issue of returning to work after trauma to the House of Commons and launching a new job coach service.

We expanded our SameChat peer support program, added new resources to our library and grew our Neuro Recovery Directory to help more families find support.

We joined the UK Stroke Forum to improve care and published more survivor stories to give a voice to those who struggle to be heard.

We have also continued work with the World Health Organization, The University of Edinburgh, Sphere Rehabilitation, The University of Central Lancashire and five East Lancashire hospitals, Spaulding Rehabilitation and Mount Sinai Health System, New York.

And there is more to come in 2025.

This includes expanding Neurorehabilitation Online and self-help programs.

We will be presenting our research findings outlining the lack of support after brain injury at the American Heart Association’s International Stroke conference.

We are partnering with Mount Sinai to launch our peer support program.

We will be working with new partners to elevate awareness of the need for rehabilitation after brain injury and take the message to a new audience.

Just before we sign off, we want to say that without your unending support we wouldn’t be able to do any of this.

So, thank you.

We wish you all a New Year full of peace and joy. We’re looking forward to working alongside you all next year.

With love,

The SameYou team
