University of Oxford looking for stroke survivors for new study

The University of Oxford is looking for stroke survivors who experience sleep problems and have some difficulties using their hand or arm, with some ability to open and close their hand, for a new study.

The research team are testing an online sleep improvement programme and seeking to understand how sleep affects recovery.

The study, for people over 18, involves completing the programme at home as well as filling out some questionnaires, performing a movement learning task and wearing an activity monitor to measure sleep at home.

All volunteers will be given access to the sleep programme and all study materials will be delivered or posted to your home. No travel to Oxford is required.

The team hope the result of the study will help to better treat sleep problems after stroke and to develop new treatments to improve rehabilitation outcomes.

Taking part is voluntary and participants are free to withdraw at any time, without giving a reason.

Participants’ clinical/rehabilitation care will not be affected.
